TMJ Therapy

Our office strives to treat every person the same, and that is the best we possibly can! This involves providing comprehensive dentistry. Comprehensive dentistry is when the entire masticatory system is in harmony with each other. The jaw joint, muscles that move your jaw, gum tissues, and finally your teeth all strive to be in perfect harmony with each other. We strive to find that perfect balance for you and come up with the least invasive way possible to achieve that for you.

What Is TMJ?

  • Does your jaw joint ever hurt or ache?
  • Have you ever been told that you grind your teeth at night?
  • Do you have any signs of wear on your teeth?

These are signs that you may have a problem with your temporomandibular joint, the TMJ. TMJ disorders are VERY COMMON and seen quite frequently in a dental office.

TMJ Therapy

Most dental offices will give you a bite guard to “protect” your teeth from clenching and grinding your teeth.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as wearing that bite guard at night, but sometimes, it can be a little more complicated than just that.

Few people are trained to provide permanent relief and restorations to make the TMJ healthy. Dr. Michelson has had advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of the TMJ joint. He will give you a thorough examination of your problems and determine the best, most conservative way to eliminate the problems you are having.
